Nationwide System Collapse Affects Power Supply in Aba
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Dodoh Okafor, has denied allegations that he ordered the arrest of individuals who were invited to Umuahia under the guise of peace negotiations. Responding to a viral social media post, Okafor clarified that Governor Alex Otti never issued any such arrest orders related to any immediate or remote events.
The controversy surrounding these claims arises from allegations that the arrests took place after the official commencement of the renovation of Port Harcourt Road in Aba. The Otti administration shares the belief of former Imo State Governor Sam Mbakwe that rebuilding the road is crucial for the state’s economic revival.
Okafor vehemently stated, “Those sowing seeds of division must understand that the people of Abia are now more enlightened and will not allow anyone or any group to mislead them with fabricated stories.” He dismissed the allegations of protests and invitations to Umuahia as unfounded.
Furthermore, Okafor emphasized that Governor Otti remains unwavering in his commitment to restoring public infrastructure, addressing flooding concerns, and creating a conducive business environment. The Otti administration urged the public to consider the motives of “mischievous characters” who seek to create divisions.
Okafor also stressed that the support of the public is highly valued and assured everyone of Governor Otti’s firm dedication to guiding Abia towards progress and development.
