Following Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s promise last week, the Adamawa State government has commenced payment of the N70,000 minimum wage to its workers. This move fulfills the commitment made by the Governor Fintiri during his August 19, 2024, meeting with the Labour Union.

Civil servants have expressed their gratitude, praising Governor Fintiri for keeping his promise. Saliyatu Mohammad, a Ministry of Land and Survey employee, said, “The governor has demonstrated his commitment to our welfare with this gesture.” Hannah Pam a teacher, confirmed receiving the increased salary, commending the governor for the move.
I’m originally from plateau state, but I’ve spent my entire life here in Adamawa. I have witnessed numerous leaders come and go, but this current governor stands out as truly exceptional. I’m grateful for the outstanding leadership and vision he brings to our community

On August 19, 2024, Governor Fintiri approved the N70,000 national minimum wage payment for state and local government workers. According to Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) State Chairman Emmanuel Fashe, state government workers received the new salary in August, while local government workers will benefit starting September.

Notably, Adamawa State is the first to implement the N70,000 minimum wage since President Bola Tinubu signed it into law.”
