UP NEPA Documentary

A documentary premiere can be a significant moment in a filmmaker’s career, providing an opportunity to share their work with a new audience and potentially launch their film onto the world stage. The case was no different in Aba, Enyimba City, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Cine 21, Market Square, as GRIOT STUDIOS presented the UP NEPA Documentary, thrilling their audience to moments of laughter and excitement. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Isaya Bako, the UP NEPA Documentary delves into Nigeria’s power challenges while showcasing solutions for a brighter energy future. Guests were treated to a red-carpet reception, mocktails, and refreshments. Key attendees included traditional leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and press representatives.

According to Men of Light reporter Okwuonu Victor, who was present at the event, some of the dignitaries had this to say:

Prof. Bart Nnaji, Chairman of Geometric Power Group: “Reliable electricity is the backbone of every thriving community and economy. At Geometric Power, we are committed to transforming Aba into a hub of progress by ensuring consistent, uninterrupted power supply. This is not just a goal—it’s a vision we are turning into reality, step by step. The challenges we face are clear, but with your support, we will overcome them, creating a sustainable and prosperous energy future for Aba.”

Mrs. Agatha Nnaji, GMD of Geometric Power: “Our work is not just about providing electricity; it’s about empowering lives and industries in Aba. The UP NEPA documentary is a testament to the progress we envision for the community, as it captures the existing power challenges and the opportunities to create a brighter, more reliable energy future.”

Barr. Ugochukwu Opiegbe, MD of Aba Power: “At Aba Power, we recognize the critical importance of reliable electricity in powering businesses, homes, and industries. Our commitment is unwavering, and we will ensure that homes and businesses in Aba benefit from a stable power supply. The road to this transformation is not without its challenges, but with collaboration, dedication, and the support of the community, we are confident that we will deliver on this promise. Together, we will light up Aba and fuel its growth into a beacon of progress and innovation.”

Over time, the Enyimba City has evolved into an ecosystem of trade and commerce, fantastic artisanship, and fabrications, earning it the global accolade as the “Japan of Africa.” Therefore, to sustain growth and development, reliable electricity generation and supplies are non-negotiable. To this end, Geometric Power’s mission to deliver reliable and affordable electricity for Aba remains unwavering. However, community leaders, stakeholders, and partners must reaffirm their commitment to ensuring power infrastructures are safe and secured at all times, and that consumers live up to their responsibilities of paying for energy consumed. This way, reliable power supply is guaranteed, and thus, return on investment for all stakeholders.
The organizer thanked everyone who joined them for this impactful event
