Aba Made Film Project giving a certificate to Abia State House Assembly Speaker as a patron

The Aba Made Film Project team, led by producer Ifeanyi Ifekandu, paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, to formally introduce their upcoming historical film, The Chronicles of Enyimba City. During the visit, the team honored the Speaker with a certificate, recognizing him as one of the project’s esteemed patrons. The film, set to highlight Aba’s rich history and cultural heritage, is poised to elevate the city’s global image through the power of motion pictures.

In an interview, Ifekandu revealed that the project is gearing up for a grand flag-off ceremony tentatively scheduled for October 14, pending approval from Governor Alex Otti, who serves as the brand ambassador and executive producer. The film aims to showcase Aba not only as a commercial hub but also as a city with a profound historical legacy. Ifekandu emphasized that the project will explore significant milestones, such as Aba being the site of the first British consulate in West Africa, marking the onset of colonialism in the region.

The Chronicles of Enyimba City will delve into the cultural and historical significance of Aba, including the iconic Aba Women’s Riot, a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s colonial history. According to Ifekandu, the film seeks to unveil lesser-known aspects of Aba’s identity, answering questions like why the city is called Enyimba City. By portraying Aba’s heritage through a cinematic lens, the project aims to market Abia State as a hub of cultural and historical significance to a global audience.

The Aba Made Film Project underscores the role of film as a mirror reflecting societal development. With the support of prominent figures like Governor Otti and Speaker Emeruwa, the initiative is set to position Aba as a beacon of cultural pride and historical awareness. The team expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to deliver a production that will resonate with audiences while celebrating the legacy of Enyimba City and Abia State at large.
